Quick answers

Frequently asked

How do I install the current beta?

Install Apple’s TestFlight app, then open the JollyPod invitation on your Apple device and follow the prompts.

Why is there a paid annual subscription?

I first wanted to launch JollyPod for free, but I pay for the Apple Developer Account and for Codex. My goal is not to make money, just to recover some of what I spend. I appreciate every contribution, and I think it is worth the money if you enjoy the app.

If you cannot afford it, write to me and I will send you a gift code. Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds under its store rules.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Open Settings on your Apple device, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Choose JollyPod to view or change the subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

What about missing features?

My main focus is reliability and speed, not adding every feature immediately. I know there are still issues, especially with iCloud sync, and I want the basics to feel solid first.

What about the Mac version?

JollyPod is built for iOS first. iPad and Mac work and I activate them, but they are not visually polished yet. Once I am happy with the iOS version, I will work on the others.

What about CarPlay?

CarPlay is not available yet for the same reason. It will come once iOS is in good shape.

What about push notifications?

Push notifications do not exist yet. The setup is not trivial and reliable delivery is not free, so it is not a high priority right now.

Can I listen offline?

Yes. Download episodes before leaving your connection. Availability of individual episodes still depends on the podcast publisher.

Can I move subscriptions from another app?

Yes. Export an OPML file from your existing podcast app and import it into JollyPod. You can also export your JollyPod subscriptions again later.

A podcast or episode is missing. What now?

Podcast listings and media come from their publishers. First check whether the show’s feed still works elsewhere. If it does, email the feed or episode link to support and it can be investigated.

What should I include in a bug report?

Please include your device model, operating system version, JollyPod version, steps that reproduce the problem, and a screenshot if it helps. Do not send passwords or sensitive personal information.

I still have a feature request. What now?

Please reach out. If it is possible and does not clutter the app, I will try to add it.
